character development, in dreams and novels

I can't remember my dream from last night. (But it was cool- I was dreaming, my alarm clock went on, I hit my alarm clock, and I continued my dream perfectly.) Which kind of pisses me off. If I had the dedication to not focus on getting myself into the shower and preparing myself in time to catch the bus, I could have written it down. I've gotten a good style now though- I write down three incomplete sentences about the dream- which takes 30 seconds- and then I complete writing about it on the bus to Thisted. Works well when I write down the notes.

I was writing down my dreams last weekend, and I realized that while I go through alot of interesting situations, I never remember any character development- because people either aren't in the dream long enough to have character development, or they're all the same. The most character development is me (and sometimes other characters) gaining knowledge about the dream. So I said to myself "I want to see some badass character development in my dream." And then I thought that during the night before I went to sleep. That night (or the next... I don't remember, and my dream journal isn't with me) I had a great dream about pebble-magic. But that's not the important part- the important part was that there was a person who truly went through character development.
Now, the dream-world I was in had games, sort of like Diablo 2 or Prince of Persia or other adventure-rpg games; except you play it with your real-life character. I met a girl who had beaten one game with a Fox-pokemon-avatar-pet, but she had rushed to finish the game too fast- and her fox was terribley wounded and later died after she had won the game. She was in some big depression about it, and wasn't very helpful when first helping me. But after facing my bad guy, and seeing our comrade getting kidnapped, she became somewhat useful- in that she was thinking on her own, not being lathargic. After that I talked with her and she seemed less depressed about what had happened in the past- she understood that was the past, and this is now. Then after getting off the train we fall through into a cave, with an army of people to help rescue our friend, and I remember looking back at the people following me. I was in the lead, sort of scouting, and the girl was there- and she looked much more mature, confident, and she was leading the small army like a general. Impressive. Then when we came to the baddie, she was the one doing half the thinking to defeat the enemy. (Though I noticed the key to defeating him.)

And what was the key to defeating him? well as a way to scare-taunt us the two baddies gave us a wooden tablet that showed two faces. At first we didn't notice anything strange- but then I noticed on the train that the faces were changing, and I guessed they were changing with the emotions of the people. Now, in the beginning of the dream I was an apprentice of one of the 5 types of magic- emotion magic, which changes people's emotions and uses that against them. Being able to see if my spells were succesful was a godsend ability- that the enemies gave me! At the final showdown, we showed up- and as soon as the baddies saw us both the faces immediatley went super-angry. (We also might have backwards engineered the tablet to make it so that we used the tablet as a way to change their emotions. Sort of like hydrolics.)

It's one of the first dreams where I've had a character in my dream the full way, who has changed looks a little and also changed personality.

So I think I'd like a character like that in my dream to be in a novel. If I get around to writing it- speaking of which, I think I'm going to create a community or another username to write my novel on- since the computers don't have USB ports for my thumb drive. Suggestions for what the best way to post a novel online is?

I'm also getting better with remembering my dreams, even on days when I'm woken up by alarm clocks. Just need to write those notes.
